Where the Wild Builds Character

Wild Pursuit Foundation unites youth fishing, veteran mentorship, and outdoor education across South Carolina — growing confident kids, purposeful veterans, and a stronger community, rooted in the conservation of wild places.

Our Mission

One rod, one mentor, one lesson at a time

We believe the outdoors is one of life's greatest classrooms. By pairing young people with veteran mentors on the water, we create a structured program that supports personal growth, strengthens community bonds, and opens doors to competitive fishing. And the pursuit doesn't stop at the water's edge — our youth go on to explore the broader outdoors, learning the conservation and habitat of the game and wildlife that share South Carolina's land.

What We Do

Four Pillars of the Pursuit

Youth Fishing

Structured fishing programs that get kids on the water — teaching skill, patience, and sportsmanship with a path to competitive opportunities.

Veteran Mentorship

Veterans serve as mentors and guides, sharing hard-earned wisdom while finding renewed purpose alongside the next generation.

Outdoor Education

Hands-on learning across South Carolina's marshes, forests, and fields — ecology, navigation, safety, and how to read the land.

Habitat & Game Conservation

Protecting and restoring the homes of the state's game and wildlife — turkey, quail, deer, and waterfowl — so the wild stays wild.

Beyond the Water

Fishing is where we start. The whole outdoors is where we grow.

The rod is the doorway. Once a young person is comfortable on the water, the pursuit widens — reading sign in the mud, knowing the birds and game that share a marsh or pine savanna, and understanding what those animals need to thrive. Our veterans, many of them hunters and anglers themselves, lead these outings and pass on both skill and stewardship.

  • Game & Upland Birds

Turkey, bobwhite quail, and waterfowl — where they roost, nest, and feed, and how our youth help watch over them.

  • Deer & Small Game

Mast, browse, cover, and clean water: what a healthy deer and rabbit population needs from the land around it.

  • Habitat Restoration

Natives plantings, nest and brood boxes, brush piles, and waterway cleanups built by mentors and kids side by side.

  • Field Skills

Tracking, birding, mapping, and ethical conduct afield — the habits that turn a kid into a lifelong conservationist.

Why It Matters

Impact That Lasts Beyond the Water

Personal Growth

Confidence, discipline, and resilience built one cast — and one careful step — at a time.

Community Engagement

Families, veterans, and volunteers connected through shared time on the water and in the woods.

Conservation

Waters, woods, and fields actively stewarded for the game, wildlife, and generations that depend on them.
